Sydney is known for its seafood, beaches and nightlife, but did you know Sydney is home to one of Australia’s darkest convict past? This running tour will take you on a journey through several vastly different eras, journeying the transformation from a penal colony to the bustling and popular beachside city that Sydney has transformed into.
During the run, we will take you to see a number of historical sites including Hyde Park Barracks, the majestic St Mary's Cathedral and many more. On the tour, learn about the early days of European settlement in 1788, and events of the 1800’s right through to the 20th century developments of the iconic landmarks of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House.
The city is home to Australia’s oldest buildings and boasts the largest skyline in the country as well. Continuing towards the Darling Harbour, you will have the opportunity to witness Sydney’s distinct contrast of traditional and modern architecture.
Before concluding the tour, we’ll take a brief stop at Queen Vic Building where you’ll be able to enjoy Sydney’s finest coffee at a trendy central Sydney café. We’ll then conclude near Town Hall where you’ll have easy access to other hotspots around Sydney’s city centre.
