Fancy a summer eve out in Sydney but don’t want to be stuck inside when the weather is this balmy? Then head to these roof top bars for an evening of cocktails and summer breezes.

Dot’s Rooftop at Hotel Sweeney’s - 125 Clarence Street, Sydney

So this one is a bit of a climb, but once you get to the top it’s definitely worth the view! This corner pub has an old charm that becomes a happy escape from the bustling streets of Sydney. Voted one of the best rooftop bars in Sydney, this bar offers an array of craft beers and fancy cocktails to enjoy as you take in the surroundings of the city’s skyline under a string of fairylights. Open Monday-Saturday 9am to 3am and Sunday 10am to midnight.

The Rook - Level 7, 56 - 58 York Street, Sydney

Not only a bar renowned for their cocktails, the Rook is the place to go for burgers and lobsters. This high-rise cocktail bar allows you to enjoy the night air under their retractable roof. The exterior of the building may not be spectacular, but once you enter The Rook, you are transported into a loft space decorated with wood and a pretty amazing mural of a dove. The bar menu is extensive with a wide selection of wines including dessert wines, beers, ciders and of course cocktails. With choices like Milk and Cookies (rum, coffee, salted caramel and almond milk) and Down The Rabbit Hole (Gin, blood orange liqueur, white cacao, lemon and cardamom), you will want to try more than one.  Best to make a booking though as reservations fill up quite quickly! Open Tuesday-Friday 12pm-12am and Monday, Saturday 4pm-12am.

Brigade Rooftop at The Light Brigade - 2A Oxford St, Woollahra

As you walk into the Brigade Rooftop, sitting 83 metres above sea level you will be met with a stunning oasis of a leafy terrace surrounded by a view of Sydney’s urban jungle. Candle lit tables add to the relaxing atmosphere of this alfresco dining experience enjoying a woodfire pizza, Brigade’s signature burger accompanied by the amazing cocktails this bar has to offer. This bar also celebrates festive occasions such as broadcasting sporting events so you can watch the match unfold accompanied by your favourite beer on tap or glass of wine, that is if you can take your eyes away from the amazing view of Sydney. Open Monday-Saturday 12pm-9pm and Sunday 12pm-8pm.

Darlo Bar- 306 Liverpool St, Sydney

Situated in the trendy, bustling inner-city Darlinghurst and only a five minute walk from Kings Cross Station, this rooftop bar is the place to be on a warm night with indoor and outdoor seating on offer. With a vertical garden bar, cocktails in quirky glassware and lots of fairy lights, the Darlo Bar has a eclectic and vibrant atmosphere. The cocktail menu is compiled of both old favourites as well as modern concoctions made using herbs straight from the rooftop garden. Sip on a signature espresso martini or a Garden Tonic that puts a floral twist on the classic G&T with additions of elderflower, lavender and cucumber. This retro inspired hotel is definitely one to visit whilst in Sydney. Take a trip to the Darlo Bar Monday-Saturday at between 10am-12am and Sundays 12pm-12am.
